A Stylish, Low Budget Phone
The Sony Ericsson w350i is a gorgeous phone with a high quality sound system and fairly simple user interface. If you want a great music phone with simple features and a reasonable price, this mobile is perfect for you.
Appearance:
The w350i comes in four beautiful colours: Ice Blue, Graphite White, Electric Black, and Hypnotic Black. At 80g, its slender shape makes it easy to hold in one hand. You can also store it virtually anywhere. Despite being so small, it’s fairly durable and doesn’t feel cheap at all. Its only design flaw is that the keypad is covered by a very flimsy clasp that has a tendency to break off if the phone is dropped.
Its 1.9 inch 262K TFT colour screen may be a bit small to some, but its vivid, crisp colours and pristine brightness make watching videos, surfing the net, and overall navigation easy. However, the menu buttons and keypad may be too small for those with bigger fingers.
Sound:
The w350i is an ideal phone for music enthusiasts. Not only do you get crystal clear sound quality, but it also comes with an FM radio and a Walkman® Player. Our only disappointment was that the w350i didn’t come with a 3.5 mm headphone jack, but if you’d rather not use the set of earphones included with the mobile, you have the option of using a stylish wireless Bluetooth headset.
You can organize and customize your tunes by using such features as TrackID™, PlayNow™, and Mega Bass™. Also available are ringtones in polyphonic, mp3, and AAC formats.
Camera:
Shutterbugs will be ultimately disappointed in the phone’s 1.3 megapixel camera. While it has a 4 x digital zoom, various camera settings, and options for photo blogging and using wallpaper animations, that’s where the fun ends. There is no autofocus or flash. As a result, your pictures may come out grainy or overexposed depending on the lighting conditions.
Internet Connectivity:
With its tri band technology, this mobile will be able to keep your phone working almost anywhere. Connectivity options include EDGE, Bluetooth®, USB, and synchronization with your PC. You can also browse the internet using Access Netfront™ or a WAP 2.0 XHTML browser. Another handy detail is the phone’s compatibility with RSS feeds, which makes it easy to keep up with your favourite blogs.
Texting options include SMS, MMS, a useful email client, and predictive text. Also featured is Long SMS messaging, which will allow you to send messages with more characters.
Additional Features:
Along with the usual phone book, alarm clock, calculator, and other features, the w350i comes equipped with an assortment of incredibly useful features, including Flight Mode, a lovely option that allows you to play games, listen to music, and use the applications in your organiser while keeping the wireless radio portions of your phone turned off. You also get a handy navigation key for easier manipulation of your user interface.

Memory:
At 14 tiny megabytes, the w350i doesn’t have much in the way of storage capacity, but you have the option of adding Memory Stick Micro™, which should allow you more than enough space for storing your games, music, and pictures.
With seven hours of talk time and 300 hours of standby, you may have to charge fairly often, but this is a flaw that many are willing to overlook.
Verdict: The Sony Ericsson w350i is a truly magnificent phone, especially for music lovers. Its attractive design, speedy internet connection, and high quality features make it one of the most popular budget phones on the market today.
