The Sony Ericsson c905 is one of the best camera phones on the market today. With 8.1 megapixels, a cyber-shot camera, a powerful xenon flash, and 16x digital zoom, it packs a lot. Also included are several convenient features, such as an image stabilizer, face detection, and red eye reduction. You won’t find many of the flashier functions you’ll see on other camera phones, but the Ericsson C905 does have a BestPic and Photo Fix options. Bestpic alters the camera’s settings so that you take up to nine pictures with a single push of a button. You can then choose the best out of them to keep. Photo Fix has a smart contrast option, automatically editing the photo’s light and contrast levels. You can edit and resize to your preference before using the photo blogging feature to show them to the world. The camera is one of the phone’s stronger features—the flash is excellent, the shutter speed is top notch, and the image quality is as good as a digital camera’s. It is a powerful, accurate camera that will leave you with crisp, vivid photos.
The camera also features a video recorder that is just as awesome. It captures smooth, clear footage in any condition, light or dark. In the event that you’re in darker surroundings, the video camera has a function that will automatically brighten the video and improve its quality. It also comes with a video stabilizer as well as lots of options for editing and streaming. 3G video calling is also a fun option—with this high quality video camera, you’re both guaranteed to show up beautifully.
There is more to the phone than just the camera, believe it or not. Incidentally, the phone’s sound quality is very good, and it’s media player supports mp3 and ACC music formats. Some newer options include TrackNow, a function that identifies songs, and PlayNow, an option that allows you to download top quality songs and ringtones for affordable prices.
With all this stuff, it’s a wonder there’s so much time between charges, but the phone supports up to nine hours of normal talk time and four hours of 3G talk time as well as 380 hours of GSM standby and 360 hours of 3G standby.
Verdict: This is the perfect phone for camera aficionados. With its plethora of other interesting and convenient features, it’s sure to appeal to other users as well. Its only downside is that it’s an awful lot to figure out at once, but if you’re willing to spend the time to learn it, it’s well worth the effort.
