The mobile widgets allow you to customize your home screen, giving you easy access to clock, weather, etc. The built in accelerometer rotates your screen from landscape to portrait with each turn. There is a virtual QWERTY keyboard that is very easy to use, and there are three “real” keys for send, call and select. Other features include handwriting recognition and gesture lock. To keep your life organized an phonebook, calendar, clock, alarm clock, calculator and organizer are included.
Sound:
The Tocco Lite has a media player which supports MP3, WMA, AAC formats, plus downloadable MP3 and WAV ringtones. It also supports the Shazam music service. To keep you up to date with news and weather you also get an FM radio. The speakerphones truly enhance the phone’s audio and video multi- media abilities, as well as improving communication. These speakers provide high quality sound.
The USB ports and Bluetooth connectivity give you plenty possibilities to transfer music to your phone. Unfortunately, this phone lacks a 3.5 headphone jack, which is disappointing.
Camera:
The camera on the Samsung S5230 Tocco Lite is not one of its best features. The camera is 3.2 megapixels with a digital zoom. The Samsung’s Smile Shot feature is pretty cool, letting you take the photo when the camera detects the subject smiling. There is no auto focus so the pictures taken outdoors are sharp and clear, but indoors they get a little grainy. Basic video is also included.
Internet connectivity:
Staying connected is easy with the phones quad band technology. You also get EDGE technology and GPRS for transferring data fast. To keep you connected socially, this phone offers a very good web browser with easy access to RSS feeds, Google mail, Google Search and Google Maps. Sadly, download speed is hampered because there is no 3G feature.
Memory and Talk Time:
The Samsung S5230 offers 50 megabytes of internal memory, so you can store all your photos, messages, text and music. It also has expandable memory through a memory card slot, that can support up to 8 gigabytes on a micro SD card. The phone doesn’t have a really powerful battery, but it seems to do the job, giving you 10 hours of talk time and 350 hours of stand by time.
Conclusion:
All in all the Samsung S5230 Tocco Lite is a pretty good phone in its price range. Yes, it does lack 3G and a 3.5 headphone jack, but, it offers a great user interface along with media player, 3.2 megapixel camera, FM radio and SD card slot. This phone is worth looking into.
