Samsung S5600 mobile phone deals A Slim, Attractive Touch Screen Phone With Prices You Can Afford

Samsung fans will be excited to learn about the Samsung S5600. Its attractive design, fast internet connection, 3 megapixel camera, and fairly hefty memory storage space all make it worth a second look. Oddly enough, its name actually varies depending on who is selling it: Orange has named it “Preston”, while Vodaphone picked “Blade”.

Appearance:

At only 92g, this tiny, slender phone is easily storable in your pocket, bag, or even some wallets. Its gorgeous 2.8 inch 16 million colour touch screen, curved edges and pretty metallic accents are pleasing to the eye. It’s also available in black, pink, and white.

Unfortunately, the Samsung S5600 looks a bit too much like its predecessors to make too much of a statement. Furthermore, some users have complained that it feels a bit flimsy and fragile.

As for user interface, thus far there hasn’t been complaints of bugs or freezing, though a few of its features designed to be convenient are proving to be a bit of a hassle. For example, its screen gesture lock has a nasty habit of unlocking if you carry it in your pocket. Some have also complained that the screen, while pretty, is a hair too sensitive for easy use.

Sound:

The S5600’s sound system is a bit basic, but provides everything you need, including a music player compatible with MP3, AAC, and WMA, music storage, a stereo FM Radio RDS, and polyphonic and mp3 ringtones. We would have liked to see a 3.5 mm headphone jack, though.

As for sound quality, the phone doesn’t disappoint, with crisp, unblemished sound for both phone calls and music. Even its speaker phone provides clear sound, with no sign of distortion or crackling.

Camera:

Its 3 megapixel camera isn’t much when compared to some other camera phones, but what it has is sure to satisfy. Along with a LED flash, auto focus, and geo tagging features, you also get Smile Detection, an option that automatically clicks a picture once it senses the subject smiling.

Its video player is compatible with MPEG4, WMV, H263, and H264 and can capture up to 15 frames a second. Also included is 3G video calling, which is a convenient touch.

Internet Connectivity: While it has no Wi-Fi, the phone’s 3G HSDPA, Bluetooth with A2DP, USB, GPRS, and EDGE compensate for this somewhat. Its quadband technology makes sure that you can use your phone almost anywhere, and its GPS will help you find your way around unfamiliar places.

Browsers include WAP 2.0 as well as XHTML and HTML. You can also enjoy SMS and MMS with predictive text, which is an option you may need considering the infamous difficulty of touch screen texting.

Memory and Talk Time:

Its 80 megabytes of memory is more than enough to store your mp3s, photos, emails, text logs, and more. You also get up to sixteen gigabytes via a microSD memory card. However, its measley three hours of talk time and substandard standby time may mean you’ll need to charge this phone often, especially considering its enormous screen.

Veridct:

The Samsung S5600 has a lot to be impressed about. Its lovely screen, reliable, fast internet, and surprisingly nifty little camera all make it a considerable phone, especially considering its price range. However, its lack of Wi-Fi, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and somewhat sensitive touch screen may annoy some users.
