Samsung Armani mobile phone deals Making a Strong Fashion Statement

The Samsung Armani mobile phone is Samsung’s answer to the crop of designer phones that have been coming out as of late, starting with Motorola’s tie up with Dolce and Gabbana, and then with LG’s collaboration with Prada. The Samsung Armani, also known as the P520, is no copycat mobile phone, it is very sleekly its own design and plans to also give the Apple iPhone a run for their money.

The first thing you’ll notice about the Samsung Armani is its size: it is tiny. More or less as small as a credit card. Scaling up to only 54.5 mm wide and 87.5 mm long, and weighing 85 grams, this phone is ultra slim at only 10.5 mm. Despite its fragile-seeming size, the Samsung Armani is quite a solid phone in its sexy black and silver casing, assuring you that it has just as much substance as it has style.

And style it does have plenty of. The “luxury mobile phone” is incredibly beautiful in its simplistic design, and Giorgio Armani has been quoted as saying the phone is more a personal statement of the kind of lifestyle we lead, as much as the clothes we wear. Some users have commented that it’s the ultimate fashionista phone, made especially to fit into tiny designer jeans. It also comes in a leather case so that if you do push it into your skinny jeans’ skinny pocket, there’s no chance to scratch its delicious surface.

The Samsung Armani is a touch screen phone with a large 2.6 inch LCD display. There are only two buttons on the face of the unit, one to make calls and another to end them, buttons along the sides for the camera, volume control and to hold or lock the phone, and everything else is accessed with a light touch of your fingers. We would like emphasize that “light” touch because the phone is extremely sensitive. Some users have complained that they end up pressing the wrong buttons – quite easy to do with such a small phone and screen. As if to compensate, the phone has a predictive text feature, which makes text messaging a lot faster than normal.

Another user complaint is that one cannot pause in the middle of operating any of the phone’s functions, as the phone goes on automatic standby after not being used for ten seconds. So be alert, fashionistas! The Armani doesn’t like it when you dilly dally.

It’s unfortunately not 3G and only tri-band, but the Samsung Armani supports WiFi, Bluetooth and EDGE, as if to make up for connectivity. It also has a 3 megapixel camera with flash, although the video quality is not as great as other phones of its kind. The cool part of the phone is it is PictBridge enabled, which means you can print photos straight from your mobile phone. It also has a music player that supports several music formats, and a built in radio. While it’s not an iPod, it has 60 MB of internal memory and allotment for a microSD memory card to append your storage needs.

Aside from the hard-case, the phone also comes in a soft pouch with an additional small black bag that holds your USB cable, stereo headphones and your very own Armani cleaning cloth. Armani did say statement, did he not?
