Samsung have been well known for their music mobile phones in recent years. They have offered solid mid range and high range mobile phones to suit every want and need or several years now but many have just not quite cut it. However, their latest offering, the Samsung F400, threatens to blow that stigma away and provide one of the most comprehensive but affordable phones to date. The only question is whether it actually fulfils that promise.

In actual fact, the Samsung F400 is a highly attractive phone. It is a dual slider with an extremely smooth mechanism that makes the phone infinitely easy to hold and even more easy on the eye. It has sleek lines and oozes sex appeal, if it is possible for a phone to do that! A lot of this is a result of the dominance of the screen. The 2.2″ QVGA screen is extremely bright and shows everything with crystal clarity. The navigation wheel is also amazingly stylish, but the of you not used to a wheel can just admire it and use the navigation keys instead.

 
 
Now on to the main feature, and undoubtedly the piece de resistance of the Samsung F400 - the music capability. The Samsung F400 is the epitome of the music phone because it is jam packed full of cutting edge technology. For example, you first encounter one of the main features of the system when you slide the phone open. There is a large speaker on the bottom of the handset, which amplifies the noise and considerably enhances the quality of the sound. Then there is the Bang & Olufsen ICF technology, which seems to come as standard on Samsung music phones these days. It is an incredibly nice touch that ensures the music experience offered by this phone is dramatically enhanced.

Of course, there are other nice touches that the Samsung F400 has, although it is difficult to notice them with the music player so obviously the focus. For example, there is a 3.2MP camera, which has auto focus built in and so takes good quality images. The connectivity is also rather good, with stereo bluetooth, a HSDPA browser, USB and various other options. However, that is not to say that the handset is free from flaws.

There is one or two niggles that you may find irritating when using the Samsung F400. For example, the camera works incredibly well during daylight but if you have to use the LED flash that is built into the feature then be aware that you may not get the image you want first time. The video recording feature is also a little off and tends to come out a little blurry if the subjects of the film are moving. This tends to make filming a frustrating experience to say the least.

The above niggles are minor and if you do not use the camera function on a phone much then the Samsung F400 will be a great phone for you. The music functionality more than makes up for the camera so if this is a primary requirement of your phone then you may have just found exactly what you are looking for!
