Like a lot of its siblings the Samsung B3410 is aimed toward the teenagers who like to keep in touch with all their friends through social networking without having to spend a fortune for a top of the line phone.
The TFT touch screen measures 2.6 inches and has up to 256,000 colors which makes it easy to view in direct sunlight. The screen ihas a clear, high quality display, making viewing a pleasure. The phone itself measures 102×53x16mm and it weighs 114g.
The outer casing of this mobile is made out of a very sophisticated glossy, yet tactile finish that is available in black.
The B3410 supports full QWERTY keyboard as well as a variety of sites. Such as, Flickr, Facebook, MySpace, Picasa, etc.
The camera is also geared toward the young since it is not very sophisticated. The 2.0 mega pixel camera is basically designed more for fun than for serious picture taking. The camera does have video recording capabilities giving you up to thirteen frames per second for some clear video.
The user will really enjoy listening to their music thanks to the MP3 player that also players MP4 videos. There is also an FM radio included. For wireless audio connectivity and for transferring files between devices, Bluetooth 2.1 is included. Samsung even included the 3.5mm headphone jack so you can use your own earphones. MP3 and polyphonic ringtones are also supported by the B3410.
For high speed data transfer this phone supports, EDGE and GPRS, Unfortunately it does not support 3G or WLAN. The phone works over four GSM networks; 850, 900, 1800, and 1900 and the phone will switch automatically between the networks.
There is an internet browser that is accessible through the phones menu and this browser lets the user access their favorite music and information websites from their phone.
For storing your music, pictures, texts and emails, the Samsung B3410 has 30MB of internal memory, with a card slot for a micro SD card letting you get up to 8GB more in memory space. This phone also comes with a rechargeable battery that will give the user 5.8 hours of talk time and 670 hours of standby between charges.
We liked the price of the Samsung B3410 as well as the size and weight. It’s a classy looking phone that won’t feel too heavy and bulky in your pocket or purse. We also like the full QWERTY keyboard and the inclusion of the 3.5mm headphone jack. That is always a plus.
The fact that this device does not have HSDPA or Mobile Broadband or even 3G is very disappointing and we were not impressed with the 2.0 mega pixel camera.
The Samsung B3410 is a good looking,, solid phone with lots of social networking features, so it definitely has a market with the younger users. Also the price is right.
