1. How does this all work?

Here’s an overview of the whole process:

1Choose a deal on our site
you will find all the best deals currently available in the UK
2Click on the deal
you will be sent straight to the merchant’s site offering the deal
3Complete your order on the merchant’s site
you will usually receive your new mobile phone and contract within 2-3 days
4Fulfill the cash back terms
mail back your monthly statements on time as specified in the terms you received with your phone
5Receive your cash back
you will normally be paid by cheque from the mobile merchant within 30-90 days

If you are new to free line rental deals and would like to clarify how it works, we recommend taking a look at our guide to free line rental deals.

NOTE: We recommend to always mail your statements via Royal Mail Recorded Delivery (Signed For) so that you have proof of receipt by the retailer.

2. I’m looking for a specific deal…

You could take a look at our mobile phone deal finder, where you can specify exactly what you are looking for. Sorry we cannot make a personalized mobile phone deal for you, but amongst the thousands we have, you will probably find one you like!

3. What is Emobilephonedeals.co.uk? Are you a mobile phone store?

Emobilephonedeals.co.uk is not a store. We save you time and effort by searching thousands of deals to find you the best deal available in the UK for the mobile phone and network that you want, and send you straight to the mobile merchant’s website to complete your purchase.

We guarantee that there’s no better deal out there that we haven’t featured. You can rest assured that that Emobilephonedeals.co.uk is your one-stop solution when you’re looking for a new mobile phone.

4. A free phone and line rental? How can it be completely free?

Because of intense competition in the mobile phone market, you will indeed get a deal with a brand new mobile phone delivered to your door, and have free line rental for part or all of the contract period (usually 12 months).

To get your line rental paid to you, you will send in your monthly statements at certain intervals (e.g. the 4th, 8th and 12th month). The majority of UK consumers don’t know about these deals and still pay hundreds of pounds to high street retailers. But thousands of savvy buyers have been enjoying big savings with these free line rental deals.

Welcome to the club!

5. Then how do the mobile merchants make money?

Simple enough… it’s surprising how disorganized people can be! Many people don’t get around to mailing back their monthly statements and therefore never claim their cash back. If you think you’d like to spend 10 minutes to mark reminders on your calendar to save a few hundred pounds, then you can look forward to big savings.

6. Are these really the same deals I get from a high street mobile phone retailer?

Yes they are. You get the same phones with the same calling plans on the same networks. You will be on a contract with Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile, O2, Three, or Virgin Mobile, just as you would be normally.

You will be a normal customer on a normal monthly contract, pay the network your monthly bills, and then receive your cash back from the online mobile phone merchant from whom you ordered your phone (e.g. Coolnewmobile).

7. How do I know that I can trust you?

Emobilephonedeals.co.uk is not a store and does not supply the phones or contracts. We save you money by comparing multiple merchants and finding you the best deals available online.

You then complete your purchase at the relevant merchant’s website.

We only recommend deals from established, reputable retailers such as Buymobilephones.net, Phones4U, Mobiles2YourDoor (also part of the 4U Group) and e2save (part of Carphone Warehouse), so you can rest assured that you are dealing with solid businesses.

8. How can I port my existing phone number over?

Note that although we believe this advice to be correct, to be certain you should always check with the networks and the FAQ or terms for porting information on the relevant retailer’s website.

* If you are porting onto 3, Orange, T-Mobile or O2 from another network *
You should be able to proceed with ordering any deal and use your PAC code to port your number over after your new phone is connected. However it may be easier to get your PAC number before ordering and enter it during the order process, so that your old number is transferred before connection (note that some retailers like Phoneboxdirect do not allow you to do this).

* If you are switching to a new deal on the same network (e.g. Vodafone to Vodafone) *
You cannot transfer your old number directly. Instead, you will have to use your PAC code to transfer your number away from your current network (probably to a Pay As You Go card on another network e.g. t-mobilesimgiveaway.co.uk), and then get another PAC code to transfer it back to your current network.

It is rather inconvenient and it will take a few weeks to complete these 2 transfers. An alternative is to just transfer your old number to PAYG and leave it there, so that you can still receive calls on the old number, with a new number on your new phone.

* If you are porting onto Vodafone from another network *
Vodafone do not allow you to use a PAC code to transfer your number over after connection. You need to begin the contract with the new number already in place.

You should therefore get your PAC number before ordering. Then after we direct you to a retailer’s website for the deal you choose, specify on the order form on the retailer’s site that you are transferring your old number, and enter your PAC number (note that some retailers like Phoneboxdirect do not allow you to do this - in this case you cannot port your number over if you buy a Vodafone deal through them).

9. What happens at the end of the contract?

After the 12 or 18 months of your contract, you will be paying the monthly line rental without any more cash back.

If you do not want to continue paying line rental, you could either transfer your number to PAYG, or best of all get a PAC code in your final month and transfer your number to another free line rental deal. Bookmark us so you can find us again!

10. Do you have telephone support?

Sorry, we do not currently offer telephone support, as this helps to keep our costs down. Please send us a message here and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

11. I have a specific question about your cash back terms/my order/billing etc. Who do I contact?

We do not offer the contracts ourselves… we search through many online retailers to find you the best deals available.

Please look at the relevant retailer’s website, and contact their Support department with any enquiries (for example, if you purchased from or are considering a deal from Buymobilephones, their contact number is 0844 880 8100). We recommend checking the email receipt for your order if you are unsure which retailer you ordered from.
