Nokia E7
The Nokia E7 is a good looking mobile phone that utilizes both touch screen and a slide out QWERTY keyboard. This device is loaded with great entertainment features as well as productive tools.
The E7 is a sturdily built device that is simple yet stylish. The unit measures 123mm x 62mm x 14mm and weighs only 176 grams. It offers a 4 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen that will allow you to navigate the user interface and will display your photos and videos with good quality. The device also offers a slide out QWERTY keyboard that you release by pushing gently on the edge of the display screen. When you combine all this with the stylish metal case and discreet buttons, you get a very high quality smartphone.
What We Like
It’s nice to have both choices, the 12 key, alphanumeric keyboard or the capacitive touch screen. Some people still enjoy typing away on a physical keyboard. You won’t get predictive text or spelling correction on the QWERTY keyboard, but then again, you tend to make fewer mistakes on a physical keyboard.
The Nokia E7 offers a stunning 8 mega pixel camera. The camera supports some image enhancing features like dual LED flash, fixed focus and face detection. The dual LED flash will really light up a dimly lit room and thanks to the GPS, the camera also offers geo-tagging that will automatically tag the location that the picture was taken. This amazing camera also records video in 720p HD at 25 frames per second.
The E7 use the standard ring and vibrate alerts as well as offering you the ability to download your favorite MP3’s and WAV music files to use as ringtones. There is a loud speaker as well as a 3.5mm audio jack so you can listen to your calls hands free. The audio jack also lets you enjoy your music while using your favorite headphones.
Nokia offers the Ovi Store that has many apps that you can down load. Just don’t expect this app store to be as stocked as the Apple or Android app stores. At least you can get the popular “Angry Birds” and the game runs smoothly.
The E7 runs the Symbian operating system and for connectivity it uses 32 versions of both EDGE and GPRS. It also supports 3G, HSDPA, HSUPA and Wi-Fi.
The Nokia E7 has 16GB of internal memory so you don’t need a micro SD card slot. 16GB of storage should be more than enough to store all your music and a large number of videos with room to spare.
What We Don't Like
We were disappointed however with the user interface that was jerky and hesitant at times. Also a disappointment was the small amount of apps available when compared to the completion.
Conclusion
In conclusion, we found the Nokia E7 to be a decent mobile phone that offers a lot of extra features that will appeal to all types of users. Whether you are looking for a way to keep in touch with messages and emails while on the go or just want a multimedia entertainment unit, the Nokia E7 might be worth looking into.
The symbian OS has been around for years but it was overthrown by Android. This phone runs on Symbian 3, a promising OS version that would rival the Android. This phone has excellent features and I really dig the slideout keypad. It's also fast and it won't fail you when it comes to speed. If you're into business and want a portable device that works like a basic laptop, then get this.
