Nokia C1-02

Today, price is very important and Nokia seems to have the secret of producing inexpensive mobile phones that look good and perform well. The Nokia C2-01 is one of those mobile phones. The C1-02 is a bar shaped device that has a sleek and compact plastic casing that feels very sturdy and solid. It also has a slightly rubberized texture that will help prevent it from slipping out of your hand.

What We Like

The unit is offered in four fashionable colors, dark plum, blue, grey and the sophisticated black.  The C1-02 is very pocket friendly with measurements of 108mm x 45mm x 13.5mm and weighs a mere 78 grams.

The display screen is 1.8 inches and has a resolution of 128x160 pixels. The screen may be small but it is clear and bright.  The C1-02  runs on a S40 operating system. The nice big, soft keys on the front of this device make texting fast and easy, there is also a responsive D-pad that will give you intuitive navigation.

Unfortunately, there is no camera so you won’t be taking snap shots of friends and family with this mobile phone. However, the audio and music functions are quite nice. There is an MP3 player that supports formats such as MP3, AMR, MIDI, AAC and WAV. There is even a stereo FM radio. Weather you use the loudspeaker or headphones, the sound is nice and clear. Speaking of headphones, the Nokia C1-02 offers the popular 3.5mm audio jack so you can enjoy your tunes with your favorite headset.

This low budget device also offers internet features like web browsing and emailing. You can even download themes, wallpaper and ringtones via the Bluetooth and USB connectivity provided.

What We Don't Like

The Nokia C1-02’s menu structure seems outdated so you won’t be down-loading apps or widgets and you won’t have any social networking, but this isn’t always bad. Some users just want simplicity in their mobile phone.

The device also offers Bluetooth transfer and a micro SD card slot; this is unusual for a mobile phone in this price range. The phone’s memory is not the best, but it will store a large number of contacts and messages.

The battery life of the Nokia C1-02 is great. The battery will give you 10 hours of talk time and up to 21 days of standby time, making this a great mobile phone to take with you when you travel. You won’t need to be tethered to the charging cord all the time. The device does have flaws, like the lack of a camera and the lack of 3G.
