Nokia 6700 Classic mobile phone deals A Snazzy, Affordable, Reliable Mobile

The Nokia 6700 is a truly impressive phone, with an attractive design, awesome camera, speedy internet, and gargantuan memory bank. With so many desirable features, you may be surprised that this is actually a mid-range phone in terms of affordability.

Appearance:

The Nokia 6700 is all about the shiny. With its silvery finish, metallic accents, and large, glossy 2.2 inch QVGA TFT 16.7 million colour screen, this is a phone that will definitely turn heads. However, style does not meet practicality in this case, unfortunately. Not only is its exterior prone to getting fingerprints, but its keypad is flat and small, which may make dialing and texting difficult for those with big fingers.

Sound:

While certainly not its most prominent feature, the Nokia 6700 has superior sound quality along with a music player, playlist, equaliser, FM Radio RDS, and a wealth of ringtones, both mp3, AAC, and video. Combine this with voice dialing capabilities and you have a surprisingly interesting selection of features to play with. While not as packed as many music phones, it certainly has a lot for its price range. Our only real disappointment was that it had no 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Camera:

Its 5 megapixel camera has a lot to offer as well. With autofocus, a LED flash, and a variety of modes and settings to play with, the phone’s camera is definitely one of its high points. Goodies include White Balance, a self timer, dedicated capture key, Flash Mode, and more.

Its video playing capabilities are also pretty strong. The Nokia 6700 is compatible with a variety of different video formats. Combine this with 4x video zoom and video streaming capabilities and you’re set. We were a bit baffled as to why they didn’t include a digital zoom with their camera, but its plethora of other features make up for its lack.

Internet Connectivity:

When it comes to staying connected, the Nokia 6700 has a lot to be impressed about. Not only does it have quadband technology, but it has many different connection options to choose from, including 3G HSDPA, Bluetooth, EDGE, and GPRS. However, we lament the lack of Wi-Fi. However, its AGPS nagivation and selection of browsers make up for this somewhat. Those who are fond of the Opera Mini browser in particular will be pleased.

The phone has a sophisticated email clients with attachments as well as SMS, MMS, and instant messaging, but its flat keypad may make enjoying these features somewhat difficult, even with predictive text. Its downloadable games were a nice touch, however.

Memory and Talk Time:

With 170 megabytes, you have a truly spacious storage space. In case that somehow wasn’t enough for you, the phone’s microSD can give you up to 8 more gigabytes. While its 5 hours of GSM talk time may leave something to be desired, its 300 hours of standby makes up for this somewhat. Given its wide range of features, you may want to keep your charger within easy reach, especially if you plan to use the phone frequently.

Verdict:

The Nokia 6700 is definitely one of the best in its price range. It’s lovely futuristic design, feature-packed camera and sound system, AGPS navigation, and awesome internet definitely make it worth a try. Additional features such as Flight Mode, vibration alerts, and more also put it in good favor. However, its lack of a 3.5 mm headphone jack and Wi-Fi are two big disappointments that some users will not be able to overlook.
