LG GW520 mobile phone deals An Attractive, Affordable Phone With Interesting Features

The LG GW520 is certainly a step up from its predecessors. Its adorable appearance, finger friendly QWERTY keyboard, and advanced internet make it a popular alternative to more expensive phones. While some may find its characteristics to be a bit basic, they’re not so bare bones that they’re unusable.

Appearance:

The LG GW520 has a design that can only be described as cute. Its rounded corners, sky blue keyboard, and metallic accents make for a mobile that you’re not afraid to show off. It’s also fairly sturdy for its size and doesn’t feel flimsy or cheaply made at all.

Its keyboard was a feature we especially liked, as it is roomy, with individually raised buttons for flawless, effortless texting. It also slides out smoothly. This is a decided step up from most touchscreen keyboards, which can be difficult to press and are sometimes unresponsive even when you hit the right key.

Its format allows you to text to your heart’s delight while still being able to use the touchscreen for other purposes. The phone’s other buttons are also within easy reach.

We noticed a few interesting things about User Interface as well. We found it quite easy to manipulate, through there have been reports of LG GW520 users experiencing freezing, crashing, and bugs.

Sound:

When it comes to media entertainment, you won’t find much. While its music player and assortment of MP3 and polyphonic ringtones are enough to meet basic needs, this feature may be a bit too simple for some. Sound quality is fairly decent, however, with no tinny sounds or distortion.

Camera:

Like the phone’s sound system, the LG GW520’s camera doesn’t have a lot to sing about. You won’t even find a flash or an image stabiliser, which can result in blurred or grainy shots. However, it’s three megapixels, digital zoom, and easily accessible camera key make it adequate enough to snap a quick shot on the go. Its photo editor and video recording capabilities also compensate for this somewhat.

Internet Connectivity:

Combine Quad Band technology and HSDPA 2100 with connection options such as 3G HSDPA, USB, Bluetooth, EDGE, and GPRS, and you have a surprisingly powerful little phone in terms of staying connected. Not only that, but its email client supports push email. You can also enjoy SMS, MMS, and instant messaging, which, thanks to its awesome keyboard, will be a breeze. Additionally, this phone supports a nifty thread

You can even create icons of your favorite contacts and display them on the homepage.

Additional Features:

The phone comes with a variety of downloadable and embedded games for you to enjoy, as well as the usual array of goodies such as the phonebook, organiser, calculator, call log, and more.

Memory:

While the phone only has 40 megabytes, you can add additional memory via a microSD card, leaving you with eight additional gigabytes. Unfortunately, talk time and standby time have yet to be announced regarding this phone.

Verdict:

This is a perfect phone for someone who wants something affordable and attractive, with a few fun features. However, its vulnerability to bugs and crashing, combined with its less-than-original set of features may make it a phone to avoid for some.
