LG BL40 Chocolate mobile phone deals LG Goes ‘Black Label’ with the Evolved Chocolate

Riding on the back of the success of the Chocolate model, a new 4-inch screen plays the principle role in the introduction of the new LG BL40 Chocolate. An unprecedented type of screen in a mobile phone with an impressive aspect ratio, there have been many different elements of this new model which have been seen as refreshing to many. In this review, we aim to outline just some of them.

For some, the phone could be deemed as more of a smooth chocolate bar, with the unique 21:9 ratio elongating the screen for certain. This elongation of the screen has certainly been emphasised by the lack of any buttons on the front of the mobile phone, at least. It is when you look towards the edges of this unique phone that you begin to see the well-known lumps and bumps of 3.5mm headphone jacks and microUSB ports. All of these are discreetly stowed away from the eye, and, with scratch-resistant glass, it is evident that the LG want their users to have an exclusive and sleek-looking phone for as long a time as possible.

As you may have gathered, it is a bit on the long side, but it makes up for this by having the latest functions of must-have mobile phones like a camera with a good amount of megapixels (five, to be exact) and a high quality lens from the laboratories of Schneider-Kreuznach. All of this is accompanied by a full-imagery suite and different shooting modes. The video quality is impressive too and a modest 30 frames per second. In addition, connectivity is impressive with WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth just some of the connection methods supported.

It has been deemed as the New Chocolate, with the beauty of the exterior of the phone emanating from the impressive functionality within. One criticism of the phone can be the out of place panel at the back however, which is in grey.

All of this said, the user interface doesn’t deduct from the glamour of this mysterious phone. With the style of the phone completely devoid of any comparisons to a remote control, the array of options that the New Chocolate provides is sophistically spaced out on the vast screen, which can make all of the difference for those who like to multi-task. This is because LG’s user interface, the S0Class, has been modified in order to accommodate the 4-inch screen.

Like all touch-screen phones, its failing can come as the phone endures the daily wear and tear of life, with fingerprints and smudges on the perfect screen inevitable. However, its usability is unquestionable, with a gloriously big keyboard for input making this phone stand out from the other touch-screen phones which are hogging the market. You’ll be pleased with this phone if you are fond of big things, after all, a 5-megapixel camera is going to get you some high-resolution shots. All of this, with a SatNav thrown in can mean that many mobile phone users will find a deal they cannot refuse somewhere in the LG BL40.
