An Attractive, Affordable Phone With a Plethora of Possibilities

The HTC Magic is a wonderfully attractive, whimsical smart phone with a variety of interesting features. Best of all, this phone is versatile enough that it should have something to please everyone.

Appearance:

At 118g, the HTC Magic is slim and slender enough to fit nearly anywhere. Its 3.2 inch 65K colour HVGA TFT LCD touch screen is also very impressive. Not only does it provide stunning visual quality, but it’s easy to manipulate. Add the trackball at the bottom of the phone, and you have an amazingly finger friendly device.

Customers will also be pleased by its simple Android operating system, which allows you to control even complex functions with relative ease. Included is Shop Savvy, an option that allows you to scan the barcode of an item and get everything you need to know about it from the Web.

That aside, it’s fairly sturdy for such a small phone, and its white exterior has a high quality feel to it—not cheap or flimsy at all.

Its 3.2 megapixel camera may not impress dedicated shutterbugs, but its auto focus, video recording, wallpapers, and photo album make it enough to take pictures with relative ease. We would have liked to see a flash, but as long as you stick to well lit areas, your pictures should turn out nicely.

Sound:

The HTC Magic plays music in a wide assortment of formats, including MP3, AAC, WMA, and more. and the sound quality is sharp and clear to boot. You also get a variety of WAV and polyphonic ringtones to choose from. Sadly, there is no 3.5 mm headset, radio, or complex media player, but it’s enough to let you carry your favourite tunes around.

Connectivity:

The phone’s quad band technology, as well as its HSDPA 900 and 2100, will keep you connected no matter where you travel. In addition to this, you get 3G HSDPA, Bluetooth®, GPRS, EDGE, and Wi-Fi internet connectivity, as well as the option to hook up through a miniature USB.

You also get many of Google’s fun additions, such as Google Maps, Google Search, Youtube, and more. In addition to this, the phone features SMS, MMS, Gmail, Google Mail, instant messaging, and an HTML browser.

Verdict:

The HTC Magic is definitely worth a try. Its amazing touch screen and snazzy interface features alone are worth it. In this case, its pros definitely outweigh its cons.
