Hm im in a dilemma now about which to get  Is the difference just the phone? The touch is a lot cheaper though, so the budget may win in the end

The iPod Touch is slightly smaller and is missing the email app in addition to the phone. Apple could easily have left Email in there, but they want to separate the Touch from the iPhone in consumers' minds.. i.e. Touch is an entertainment device and the iPhone is for communications. Of course with webmail that point isnt that important 

Also, the iPhone will come with a mandatory O2 contract, so you will have to take that into account. The Touch is already being packaged free with some deals here and the iPhone is available for pre-registration here

Thanks... i think im leaning towards the iphone now. My cousin just bought an iPhone from hong kong and its terrific. Wifi still isnt that accessible here in the UK, so a mobile connection makes a big difference for email.

Oh well, lets see what packages are available when it launches...

I'd get neither, I'd keep my current phone, which I've had for roughly a year as it's still more recent technology wise than the iphone (MMS, SMS to many, 3G) and I'd buy an iPod classic, as I don't want to downgrade the storage capacity of my old ipod.

But if you want a touchscreen ipod with less space then go ahead.

The iPod Contact is a bit lesser and is losing the e-mail app moreover to the phone. The apple company could quickly have eventually left Email in there, but they want to individual the Contact from the iPhone in customers' thoughts.. i.e. Contact is an enjoyment system and the iPhone is for devices.
