Could O2 be the Vendor of the Palm Pixi?

The UK network O2 is set to be the exclusive vendor of the Palm Pre when it hits UK shelves sometime later this year (hopefully before the Christmas rush to benefit from sales), but what many of us are waiting to find out is whether O2 will have exclusive rights to the Palm Pixi as well.

Due to launch at Christmas in the US, it could be said that the Pixi gracing the UK with its presence could be set back to at least midway of next year. This comes after an O2 spokesperson was quoted as saying that Palm hadn’t confirmed any details of the Pixi coming to Europe, let alone O2 handling sales of the device.

The spokesperson added: “As our strategy is to have a broad range of products for our customers we would certainly be interested in ranging handsets such as the Palm Pixi but have nothing to announce at this time.” …continue reading →

If you’re an Apple iPhone 3G user on an O2 network, you may need to be making some changes before October. Reports reveal that O2’s exclusive deal with the iPhone is to reach its official end on October 9th.

However, if you’ve been with O2 long, this shouldn’t come as a big surprise. You’ve likely held witness to its gradual downward spiral, suffering through everything from repeated network crashes to considerably reduced connection speeds.

Orange has also soured its customers further still thanks to its sudden price increase scheduled for September 1st. Fortunately, according to CNET, their terms of service allows you to escape this particular travesty by simply canceling your contract before the prices change.

O2 Offers a Tweet for Customers

O2 Mobile Phone Deals
O2 is the latest network provider with which Twitter have joined forces.

It seems like in the new age of Internet, with Twitter and Facebook the bad boys; it isn’t minutes or texts that matter anymore – but tweets.

O2 has confirmed they are giving their customers 600 free tweets in contract deals – however, some teenagers have said that it is not of interest to them, as Twitter is not geared towards their age range.

Vodafone already has a system that customers can use to send and receive tweets in place, with similar systems from Orange and T-Mobile expected very soon. It is understood that all of these services are currently free. …continue reading →
